But the biggest surprise was so desired DVD-player, which was given by our students in order to diversify children’s lessons. There were tears of joy in the eyes of teachers and students. Let us make a walk around the oldest Bulgarian capitals - the pagan Pliska and the Christian Preslav. These words were the opening of a History lesson about Bulgaria in the 5th grade. The interesting was that the students made models of ancient castles. Months ago they gathered natural materials, and considering that models are quite complex, the students asked their Craft teacher Nikolay Aleksiev for helping to reveal the secrets of the models. Then students from 10th grades were involved in the work and under the leadership of their class teacher Mariela Shisheva the miracle happened. Now with the History teacher - Svetlana Bakoeva every one of them is proud and pleased with the results. Lessons are great fun and the school is a real area of knowledge and creativity.
If you want to see something interesting, come to the lesson - journey. You will love it!

The week that was dedicated to celebration of the Day of National Leaders finished on 30 October. That day winners of different competitions read their poems, presented their presentations and sang their songs. The management of the school announced the awarded with honor scholarships two students. These scholarships are possible thanks to all teachers’ staff in our school. Teachers gather money and give these scholarships to the two best students in our school. This term these two students were Tihomir Arahangelov and Desislava Sasheva from 11 grade. The first graders had a special “Letters’ workshop” where they made letters of colored paper. They were helped by students from Young Students Board. In the middle of the day third graders and fourth graders surprised the other students appearing with their Halloween’s costumes. It was their Halloween party with going around the school and saying “Treat or trick”. Of course, they received some treat for their hard efforts to be scaring. Finally, this day is a reason to great all teachers for their hard work because teachers are Great Leaders who keep the light of the knowledge and the spirit of every nation. Happy Day of National Leaders to all teachers! We wish you to be dedicated and professional.

The independence of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire was proclaimed on 5 October [O.S. 22 September] 1908 in the old Bulgarian capital Tarnovo by Prince (Knyaz) (afterwards Tsar) Ferdinand of Bulgaria. Bulgaria had been a widely autonomous (de facto independent) principality since 3 March 1878, when it was liberated from Ottoman rule in the wake of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878. On 6 September 1885, it had unified with the Bulgarian-majority Ottoman autonomous province of Eastern Rumelia. After the Liberation, Bulgaria's main external goal was the unification of all Bulgarian-inhabited areas under foreign rule into a single Bulgarian state: the main targets of Bulgarian irredentism were Macedonia and southern Thrace, which continued to be part of the Ottoman realm. In order to join an anti-Ottoman alliance and claim those territories by war, however, Bulgaria had to proclaim its independence first. This would constitute a violation of the Treaty of Berlin's terms, an act unlikely to be approved by the Great Powers. The independence of Bulgaria was formally proclaimed at the SS. Forty Martyrs Church in Tarnovo. As a result, Bulgaria's status was promoted to that of a kingdom, increasing its international prestige. Ferdinand would adopt the title of Tsar instead of a Knyaz and the country would be ready to join the Balkan League and fight the Ottoman Empire in the First Balkan War of 1912–1913. The independence of Bulgaria is celebrated annually on 22 September as Bulgaria's Independence Day. This year the students and teachers from our school celebrated Bulgaria’s Independence Day on 18 September. Members of the Students’ Board tutored by their History teachers reminded to the other students facts and evens connected to this date and how important it is for everyone in our country.

In the very beginning of our new school year we were glad to welcome to our school Mr and Mrs Hodges - guests from Mississippi, USA. Mrs Betty Hodges is a primary teacher and she had some classes here with four 4 grade classes, one 6 grade class and one 9 grade class. Lessons were very interesting for students and Bulgarian teachers. The youngest ones made leaves of trees and fans by paper and then played with them pretending that they are wind that blows leaves. By fun and games they learnt a short poem. Emotional and interesting were lessons with older students too. Our guests were introduced to the school director and then they walked around the school. In the school dance room our dance teacher learnt them to dance a Bulgarian national folk dance called "pravo horo" and in our recording studio Mr Nikolaev - a Music teacher showed them how the songs are recorded here.

The school year started at the school yard with Welcome speeches and a concert. The school vocal group sang their best songs. Two older students - Kremena and Polina performed their last songs and deserved applauses of everybody. After the school folk dance group had danced our Director Mrs Angelova poured some water with the best wish for success and luck. A lot of parents had come to meet the first school day with their children. The most excited were first graders who met their teachers that day for the first time.
